Project Reflection DnDE

We created a dungeons & Dragons Environmental edition. Yes i am proud of how we did on this. We did our story and enemy's and now we are ready to show everyone that all you have to do is kill ogres to save the environment. I learned that..... I learned that one thing.. in that one place.... and that one island..... yea.p.s I learned what sustainability helps save the world and im presenting on how you can save the world by stopping global warming. a challenge that i faced was that i could not find a stick for our sign. I COULDN'T FIND ONE SINGLE STICK. I think sustainability is to use as little as possible so we can have more resources in the future and environmental stewardship is the belief that you need to take care of our environment.

Termites

What is biomimicry?
The imitation of life

Why are termites a great subject for biomimicry research?
Because they create 2 liters of hydrogen with one piece of paper.

What is an enzyme? What is a catalyst?
An enzyme is like a catalyst. A catalyst is a chemical that speeds up reactions.

What is cellulosic material?
The leftovers of plants that we don't eat.

Why would cellulosic ethanol be more sustainable and efficient than biofuels using corn or sugar cane?
Because Were using our plant trash as fuel instead of burying or burning the extra pieces.

Concepts Learned

1. sustainability-To sustain recources or use as little as possible to use more in the longrun
2. Freegans-A group of people that choose not to buy anything and live of dumpsters.
3. Stewardship-A responsibility that you need to take care of something
4 Biomimicry-The immitation of life
5. Ecological footprint-What lasting mark you leave in your environment.
6. Overshoot-We take more than earth can provide to us.

What does this equation mean?
area x bioproductivity = biocapacity [SUPPLY]
population x consumption per person x footprint intensity = ecological footprint
The top equation explains how much the earth provides us and the bottom equation is how much we take from the earth.

What is the significance of the year 1987?
This is the year that we started taking more than the earth could provide.

What happened on October 6, 2007?
We ran out of resources for that year so we had to take from other countries.

The view

As I looked to the right I saw a beautiful view of the ocean and mountains. The sea was clear and everlasting and the mountains were green and gave you a nice sense of relaxation
